The Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) program offers flexible pathways for young people from diverse neighborhoods across the Bay Area to increase their storytelling, social justice and media arts skills. Participants are encouraged to develop their artistic talents while receiving advanced, industry-standard training in digital media production. Ultimately, their goal is to help young adults gain experience and opportunities that lead to media arts careers andpost-secondary pathways.

In order to qualify for NextGen, students must be at least 14-18  years old.

BAVC is also offering TechSF, a government-funded program for youth to receive training, career counseling, job placement support, and a paid internship all for emerging mediamakers between the ages of 17-21.

Through the TechSF program you receive:
1) A certificate in the multimedia & technology fields
2) Professional portfolio development for multimedia participants
3) Internship placement (paid up to $1200 upon completion)
4) Assistance with job placement up to 1 year
