CHALK is recruiting youth! We have over 20 available positions. Please read carefully to ensure youth applicants fit the criteria. Below are brief descriptions, though the attached applications will have more detail. Application deadline: Friday, May 27th at 5pm sharp. Please share widely.

-Pay rate is $13.00 Per Hour

-No experience needed, we will train you!

-Must be a San Francisco Resident

Position One: CHALK Outreach Worker

Position Description: CHALK Outreach Workers are a group of young leaders who work directly in the community. As front-line staff, Outreach Workers provide youth and their allies with resources and information and employment opportunities. Outreach Workers inform the community about CHALK programs and build connections throughout San Francisco. Also, they will be responsible for facilitating a youth-led drop-in space that supports 16-24 year old youth with securing employment. Conduct presentations and job readiness workshops, identify available resources, connect participants with resources, and develop outreach plans and strategies.

Applicants must be:

-Must be between the ages of 17-24

-Must be on probation with a San Francisco case

Position Two: CHALK YouthLINE Technology Intern

Position Description: Interns will get hands-on experience with real-world creative assignments: digital media, host our live television show, web design, photography, and journalism. Youth will be required to work in groups. Interested applicants are not required to have experience. YouthLINE will train you! However, experience is a plus and we will accept portfolios.

Applicants must be:

  • Must be between the ages of 15-18 years old
  • Must be a San Francisco Resident
  • Must have an interest in digital media and/or information technology

Position Three: Youth Funding Youth Ideas Program Officer & Youth Evaluator

General Responsibilities:

  • Attend ongoing training and meeting – Never stop learning. Never stop growing
  • Public Speaking – Present information about YFYI to organizations and companies for youth and adults
  • Facilitate meetings workshops – be the kind of teach you wish you had. Share your knowledge
  • Provide support to applicants and grantees – everyone needs someone on their team. Be and advocate!
  • Grant making! Give money to to youth who are leading some of the coolest projects for social change.
  • Assist young people in developing their projects ideas and be part of changing your community
  • Interview applicants and get to know the amazing youth of San Francisco
  • Other duties
  • Manage our YFYI website, Social Media, Blogs, Video Making, Design, etc
  • Conduct Research & Develop awesome reports using infographics, Prezi and more
  • Help our program grow! YFYI is YFYI because each cohort of youth staff make our program better
  • Learn to use SALESFORCE! Gain technical skills and make your resume stand out!

Applicants must be:

  • 14-17 years old
  • San Francisco Residents OR
  • 14-21 years old
  • Actively on probation in San Francisco county

Position Four: Afterschool Program Leader

Position Description: The purpose of the program leader position is to staff afterschool programs serving elementary and middle school aged youth. No experience necessary. We will train you.

Applicants must be:

  • 18-24 years old
  • San Francisco Resident

Position Five: Immigrants Campaign Youth Community Orgranizer

Position Description: The immigrants Rights Campaign is a youth lead position that foucuses on providing youth stipend internships and leadership skills. The Immigrants Rights Campagin will be organizing with immigrants low-income communities of color and build projects to provide resources, information and support. Youth Leaders will conduct research by collecting community opinions, identifying issues and solutions, and work towards immigrant rights policy. Youth leaders will design projects for the community and will be supported throughout the process, so no experience necessary!

Applicants must be:

  • between the ages of 17-24
  • Actively on probation with a San Francisco case
  • San Francisco Resident
  • Must have an interest in the immigrant rights
  • Passionate about being a  LEADER and committed to bringing solutions to your community!
  • Interested in learning new skills
