The Dr. Betty Shabazz Family Resource Center at CCSF s a student focused, multicultural center with members from all backgrounds. We have been in operation for over 12 years serving all students, with a main emphasis on low income and CalWORKS parents. We believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, but without support many students don’t make it; this is especially true for student parents. The center supports students by providing them with resources, a child-friendly computer lab to do there homework, and a supervised child-activity room where their children are cared for while they attend class. Further, there are employment opportunities for those interested in perusing either a career in community advocacy or child development.
