Youth Funding Youth Ideas (YFYI) at CHALK SF requests proposals for a youth-led research project: “Through This Lens”
Aside from usual funding cycles, which happen two times a year, YFYI decided to create an RFP to meet the changing needs of youth in San Francisco and address a specific current issue: police and youth relations.
This is an opportunity for youth to build leadership skills through research, education and creativity, while getting paid! The details and specifics need your minds for molding! YFYI believe that youth deserve a voice year round and this is their way to ensure that YOU have a mic’ with which to speak.

Minimum Requirements for Eligibility
- The project must be based in San Francisco and serve youth of San Francisco
- The project must be youth led: Youth ages 13 to 17 MUST be the leaders in the creation, writing, implementation and all decision making of the project
- The project must identify a non-profit organization to act as fiscal sponsor. The organization must agree to be responsible for the YFYI grant funds and maintain financial records
- The project must be have an adult ally
- Have a reasonable timeline and budget (ranging from $5,000-$10,000)
- Be complete
YFYI is always available to meet one-on-one with youth leaders and adult allies to hear the details of your project and provide feedback.
