Program Description

Dependency Drug Court is a court supervised treatment and parenting program for mothers and fathers with children in the child welfare system. Participation in DDC is voluntary and includes regular court appearances, intensive case management, substance abuse treatment, parenting education and other services.

DDC promotes healthy, long-term family reunification by supporting participants to address their substance abuse issues, navigate the requirements of dependency cases and increase family stability. DDC uses a team approach to coordinate services, monitor progress and help families succeed.

Enrollment Information

Wait Time for Service: After initial interview participants are scheduled for an intake with case manager same week or following week and calendared for first court appearance in 2-4 weeks.
Admissions Process: Open Enrollment (noncompetitive
Enrollment Details: A referral is made by participant's Attorney, Protective Services worker or the Court. Pending referrals are invited to a weekly Intake Group held at Homeless Prenatal Program on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. If potential participants cannot come to the group because of visitation schedule, treatment program restrictions or other responsibilities the Peer Advocate will schedule an interview. If the participant acknowledges substance abuse issues and wishes to participate, an intake appointment with a Case Manager is scheduled ASAP.
