The Western Addition Family Resource Center is a family support and empowerment agency that also serves as a hub for connecting families with a network of local and citywide service providers. Our comprehensive services are geared to be responsive and flexible enough to address each family’s unique and individual concerns. Central to our operations is our commitment to identify with each family’s strengths, and through caring and knowledgeable support, to help each family reach its goals.

Our primary service offerings include: •Drop-In Services: Information and Referral, Emergency Food, Business Services, Transportation Assistance

•Case Management and Family Advocacy: Assist families meet basic needs e.g., housing, legal services, child care/educational supports, etc.

•Individual and Family Counseling: With leveraged resources provide mental health counseling and therapeutic services in addition to evidence based parent education classes and support groups hosted within community-based venues

•Job Readiness: Family Self Sufficiency workshops, employment assistance, credit repair, linkages to post-secondary and vocational education as well as document acquisition support

•Crisis Intervention: Partner with HSA through community intervention service strategies to mitigate net widening for needy families through service provisions like Differential Response, Enhanced Supervision and Evidence-based parenting Skills Classes

•Community Engagement: Serve in a convener role to outreach to the community and conduct community building activities that support capacity and cultural competency development among key stakeholders, businesses, city officials and residents.
