The Camp Mather: Teen Outdoor Experience is a 4-day overnight summer camp for teen boys and girls 14-17 years of age who are involved with the juvenile justice system and presently assigned to a juvenile probation officer. The dates of the camp this year will be Thursday, August 22-Sunday, August 25, 2013.
Participants will participate in a comprehensive outdoor recreational experience to demonstrate their potential in becoming outdoor recreational leaders. Selected participants will be recruited into a leadership program, given the opportunity to assist in camps operated by the Recreation and Parks Department, and gain valuable experience necessary to become leaders and mentors in their communities. This camping/leadership opportunity will open a door for job placement, job training, and/or job readiness.
