Program Description

DSPS is a support program for students with disabilities. We provide special counseling and accommodations for classes such as note taking, materials in braille or electronic format, sign language interpreters, special computer equipment, adjustable furniture, extra time for test taking, scooters, etc. based on the limitations caused by the disability. In addition, we do provide some special classes in art, drama, and job seeking skills and high school strategies for those taking high school classes in Transitional Studies. Languages include English, Spanish, Russian, and American Sign Language.

Admissions Process: Open Enrollment (noncompetitive
Enrollment Details: To apply for admission to credit classes for City College of San Francisco on the college website www.ccsf.edu and do the online orientation if possible. Call 415-452-5481, at the Ocean Campus, 50 Phelan Avenue in the Rosenberg Library, Room 323, to schedule an appointment with a DSPS counselor preferably several months prior to your anticipated start date. Bring any documentation of disability or contact information for medical providers (transitioning high school students should bring a copy of their latest IEP). For admission to noncredit classes call 415-561-1001 at the John Adams Campus, 1860 Hayes Street, Romm 106, and make an appointment with a DSPS counselor. For students still enrolled in High School, call 415-561-1001 at the John Adams Campus, 1860 Hayes Street, Room 106, and ask how to enroll in Project 31, concurrent enrollment program.

Program Details

Cost: Noncredit classes are free. Credit classes are $36 per unit for California residents plus student activity and health fees. Low income students may be eligible for a fee waiver for tuition.
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm, 12:30pm - 4:30pm

Weekly Time Commitment: Full load is 12 hours plus at least 36 hours of homework
